BIOGRAPHY

My name is Ian Borton. I express myself by creating art. My love for art began at an early age. You see I had a challenging start to life. I am an identical twin and we were born weighing less than two pounds each. My brother and I fought to live and went through years of therapy to gain strength and stamina. I'm on the spectrum, with what used to be known as Asperger’s. Art was my go-to beginning with constructing Legos. Then drawing  became my passion. Art is a spectrum and it lets me express myself to the world my own unique way.

During my high school years on Hilton Head Island, I furthered my skills by taking many different art classes, learning styles such as painting, ceramics, and photography. This all culminated with my decision to enroll in an art college. I spent three semesters at Savannah College of Art and Design, but eventually transferred to University of South Carolina Beaufort.

It was at USCB that I was introduced to Adobe Photoshop and my artwork evolved into digital art. I decided to make practical use of my talent by enrolling in internships, where my work received much praise. I chose Studio Art (Media Arts) as my major and went on to win an award for an original digital art submission that was displayed at the Sea Island Gallery at the beginning of my senior year. Now, as a final demonstration of my artistic talents, I have created a comic based upon my love of cartoons and animation for my senior exhibition. My interest in art continues to grow every day and I am looking forward to creating more works in the future.
